On Sunday 1 November 2026 Vergiate celebrates 4 November, National Unity and Armed Forces Day, with a commemoration promoted by the Municipality. The programme begins at 9.15 with the gathering of participants at the memorial to the fallen of Cuirone and continues with the laying of laurel wreaths at the memorials to the fallen of Cimbro, Sesona, Corgeno and Vergiate. At 10.50 the procession moves to the Villaggio del Fanciullo for the laying of a wreath at the International Shrine; at 11 the Holy Mass with the commemorative address, in the presence of the municipal administrators, the Law Enforcement Agencies and citizens. At the end of the service a small refreshment is offered to participants. The day is held at the Fondazione Padre Oreste Cerri - Villaggio del Fanciullo, which provides the spaces and collaborates in the organisation with the priest. A public and sober moment to remember the fallen and thank the Armed Forces on the day dedicated to them.
