MAST Castel Goffredo - museo della Città, Via A. Botturi, 3
On Thursday 22 October, the MAST in Castel Goffredo hosts a new appointment of the "Incontri al museo" series. Historian Andrea Tonni guides the audience in discovering the Gonzaga horse, a breed raised by the Gonzaga family of Mantua in the late Renaissance, which became a symbol of power and diplomacy. Thanks to contacts with North Africa and Spain, the Gonzaga stables were enriched with precious specimens, donated to sovereigns such as Henry VIII of England and Emperor Charles V. A journey through animal husbandry, international relations, and the history of the Mantuan court.
