From September 26 to December 23, 2026, Bergamo hosts 'Impronta e segno. I sigilli: da materia a documento', a widespread exhibition that unites two symbolic places of the city's memory: Casa Suardi, home of the Angelo Mai Civic Library, and the State Archives on via F.lli Bronzetti. The exhibition, created in collaboration with the Diocese of Bergamo and the Diocesan Historical Archive, presents a selection of restored ancient seals and archival documents, telling how these small objects become traces and historical testimony. The exhibition route is divided between the two venues: at Casa Suardi the general section dedicated to the history and meaning of seals, while the State Archives hosts an unprecedented tactile experience, designed to make the heritage accessible also to blind and visually impaired people. Admission is free. The inauguration will take place on September 26 at the Palazzo della Curia Vescovile, and the following day, September 27, a special opening of the State Archives is scheduled.
